Metal Beer Signs look great in your bar at home. But, sometimes we just nail them to the wall or find some other way to just fix them flat. They look great either way. But, there is a way to dress them up a bit.
Rather than fix your signs flat against the wall and just leaving them that way, give them a border. It’s easier than you might think. Grab some trim from your local hardware store. Cut it in down so that you have enough to go around the sign and make sure your cuts are in 45 degree angles. Using a few dowels will cover how you attach the border to your wall. But, small nails will look nice too.
For instance, the sign above is 16” X 12.5”. You’ll need enough trim to cover 57” and you’ll have to keep in mind to make up for the 45 degree angle cuts. If your border is a half inch wide, you’ll only need about an extra inch of trim. But, do your own math so that you make sure you have more than enough.
If you would like to have dowels holding your trim around your sign, I would suggest at least two per piece. Three is even better. Drill small holes in the trim. Then, drill small holes in the wall and make sure you are aligned perfectly. It’s an easy job. But, you can mess it up if you aren’t paying attention. If you do the job well, you’ve just decorated your Metal Beer Sign in the most inexpensive way possible. Have fun!

When I saw this wine rack design the other day, I thought how easy it would be to build one for myself.
But, I like sharing DIYs with others and had to figure out how they could enjoy this unique wine rack design without spending a ton of money on it.
And my mind went to town. But, I was in a hurry to share with everyone. I haven’t had time to build one for myself. So, I wrote a Wine Rack Idea article about how it will work. If you can follow the blueprint in the article, you can enjoy a unique wine rack that might look like it cost you a pretty penny. But for those of you who may need clearer instructions and step by step pictures, I would be willing to write a DIY for everyone who wants it.
Let me know, email me at beertaps@aweber.com to receive notification when I get the DIY together. You’ll get a confirmation message from me, Stan Schubridge, and then you’ll stay up to date. And yes, you can unsubscribe at any time so that’s fine to stay on the list until you get the DIY.
